Stogursey Crafts is in the historic village of Stogursey formerly known as Stoke Courcey at the foot of the Quantock hills. The village itself has a Norman church and the ruins of a Norman castle, the Keep is still in tact and is used as a holiday let, we understand that it is haunted. Around the castle is a well kept moat with plenty of fish in it.There is also St Andrews Well where the spring water travels from Wales.
We are situated in the High Street approx.300yds up on the right from the Post Office and the local shops as you travel towards the school and Burton.
We are a family run shop which has been going since February 2005 but our interest in art & crafts has been going for a lot longer. Pam loves to knit and makes most of the knitwear sold in the shop, another craft that Pam has taken on is making her own ceramics which she does in her own studio. My interest is in painting especially watercolours.I tend to lean towards wild life especially birds of prey but I am trying my hand at incorporating wild life into landscapes.
In Stogursey and the villages around there are a lot of crafts persons so we try to accomodate their crafts in our shop as well.
You will find Stogursey village situated between Bridgwater and Minehead. From Bridgwater follow the A39 to Minehead, go into Cannington village and at the war memorial turn right heading towards Hinkley Point Stogursey is the next village past Combwich 3rd turning on left signposted Stogursey.
